Hi there, science buffs.
Does anyone know of anywhere where I could see what a rocket thruster would probably look like in space? i.e once the shuttle has broken the earth's atmosphere. Seeing a lot of 'omg awesome' artistic representations but I was wondering how near to/far from the truth these things are.
Relavent to animation I am working on *thumbs up*
P.S this would be a 1960's rocket with a dog in it. If that makes a difference. |

- Internship is working me hard. Going well. Will maybe post some interesting imagery stuff at some point.
- I have an ear infection. Not so fun.
- Not much time for my own stuff right now. Well. I say that, but here I am procrastinating on the internet. I am such a bullshitter. Okay. I haven't made anything of consequence for a little while. Going to put that right this week because I'm feeling a little flat.
- I caved and got a last.fm account back in September ... which I was sort of keeping quiet because I am kind of sceptical about these sorts of sites* ... buuuut I got curious ... strayed onto a friend's page to see what they were listening to and they found out(subscribers can see who visits. Duh). Rumbled D: I feel like a creepy stalker. Anyway. It only seems fair that I tell everyone where I am now, so my stupid page is here and, not that anyone cares, but you can see all the embarrassing shit I actually listen to.

*Despite being a blogging type of person since I was 16 or so ... I find a lot of social networking sites really sinister and invasive. I really hate facebook, for example (though I don't feel I can leave it) ... and I don't like the feeling that I am updating everyone every time I have a metaphorical bowel movement - like with twitter ... and last.fm feels a bit like this too; I find I tend to doublethink my music listening and feel rather self-conscious about my entertainment choices since I got it. Not good. ... It's something I will probably sit down and write about at some point ... not now though). |

Okay. I don't normally do this. At least on an attempting-to-be-professional level, I find illustrators who spend too much time making hair accessories and bags and bracelets and whatnot somewhat niggling. I think it's because I don't really want to be supplementing my living by selling hair tyes on Etsy (although many people are happy doing that and their wares are very pretty. So yay). Anyway. Because of that I usually don't really post about the craft bits and bobs that I make once in a blue moon. Buuuuttt this necklace is an exception. It's not going to go up on the blog, but I'm kind of chuffed with it so I had to tell someone:

I just really wanted a sabre-tooth necklace. Alas, sabre teeth are in short supply in deepest darkest london ... so I bought some fimo and mucked about. It's very fake-looking, but I kind of like that. |

Spent the afternoon doing this:
'scuse the jumpy camera. Was testing a couple of things:
1. to see how flexible a mask like this would be for stop motion
2. whether I could cut together something lipsynched from a series of photographs not taken with a specific piece of dialogue in mind. If it wasn't for the camera moving about I'd say this would look pretty good.

I'm alright. Certainly feeling much better than Patrick Swayze at any rate. Went to a fantastic amanda palmer gig Sunday night/Monday morning and ended up on the V.I.P balcony because I can't keep my big yap shut. For once it pays off.

So I shoved some sketches up over at the blog, alongside the stupid beard pictures and that T-Shirt I made a while back. More interesting content at some point soon, I swear.
Life is okay. I'm still a bit blank, really. Lots of little loose ends to tie up:
- Need to find work experience (I am so beyond stuck on this as I am terrified of 'cold calling' companies in case of derision. I've sort of spent the last three days staring at my CV and flailing.)
- Need to sort out website. Currently having problems tracking down the right person to ask about pointing my domain to a different host. Google Sites = really not helpful. Never try hosting with them.
- College have written to me saying I still haven't paid them for this year, which is a damned dirty lie. I am going to sort that out this week as soon as I have stopped flailing at my CV.
- I want to make a short animation next week when I get back from Marseilles.
- Actually. Marseilles. yes. I'm kind of going abroad for the first time in five/six years. Yay! Only for four days, but I'm looking forward to it. I have been stuck in England for too long.
- I need to apply for student finance for next academic year. Rauurgh.
I'm sure there's more. Just little niggly things that get in the way. But the work experience thing is particularly pressing.
I will bitch slap this list into submission. Lest it bitch slap me. |

I swear I will actually post something that's worth reading on at least one blog I am supposed to update sooner or later. But for now, here is a rundown of what's been going on:
- I finished 2nd year. I passed though not as well as I want to next year but that's okay because I know I'm a bit all over the place right now. er. Yay!
- I have a really long summer break throughout which I am doing lots of little projects to keep myself busy as I am not going to work in another shitty pub if I can possibly help it.
- on that note: I am looking for work experience in an animation or publishing setting. Will talk more about that later.
- I am going to Marsailles in 10 days.
- I should be going to Russia (Moscow) in September for a week or so.
- you may have noticed I ditched the pink hair (it's not very employable)
- I have about a million emails to reply to. Sorry if anyone's waiting on me.
Probably more stuff but I forget. OH. I made a t-shirt:

Ditching the pink hair in an attempt to appear rational and employable by as many people as possible.
Am also having a total underwear clean-out because all of my old knickers are, er, worn-out, or horrible or uncomfortable or a combination of the three. Have now got nice pants, one pair of which have bright blue, yellow, red and green spots on, and therefore give me clown crotch. Also bought some new stockings (black, lace topped, nothing overly special, I just haven't had a pair that don't have holes in for a while) and some comfortable socks for boot-clad days and the autumn. Soooo, yeah. Yay underwear.
There were lots of naked cyclists on oxford street today. Loads.
I am too tired to continue this post. I'mma have a bath. |

Hi you lot.
Well. I've managed to make myself sick from working too hard. I feel like I have flu, which I know isn't a good sign .... have had pain coming from the back of my jaw for last day or two ... I don't think that tooth infection ever really went away properly. Anyway. I feel like shit now. Temperature 38.6oC 39.5oC (103 fahrenheit? I don't know. I'm no good with conversions), which isn't ... epic, but it's not very nice.
Anyway. I am worried that the dentist won't be able to see me. I'm guessing they have to if infection is involved but I don't know? Whatever the case they don't open for another 2 and a half hours. If they can't I think I will wonder up to ... I don't know. Hospital? Seems a bit extreme. Meuuurgh. |

Some things of note:
1. I am really really tired.
2. It's my final hand in of the year on Monday. I still have shit loads to do. Still. I'm amazed that I've managed to get to the end of my second year at uni. It's taken me long enough.
3. I hate my wisdom tooth. It is pushing and I am hating.
4.I have a cup of tea.
5. MY DAD HAD THE TOP OF HIS LEFT INDEX FINGER BITTEN OFF BY A DOG. One of ours. Long story. An accident - dog is not vicious. Surgeons tried to reattach it but no luck. But yeah. Dad is now a bit stumpy. This is weird for me. I am going to make him a series of useful attachments to replace his finger. Including:
a) a fork - he's been having trouble using one without the tip of that finger.
b) a pirate's hook
c) a USB drive maybe if I can work out how/be buggered to
d) a little glowy LED thing like E.T which he can try to heal things with/get arrested for upsetting small children with
e) some other stuff? Help me think of good finger replacements?
